Reed Gunther Saves the Day!
Well, what a fine how-do -you-do! What showed up in the CBC mailbox today, but a box of Reed Gunther comics! Shane and Chris Houghton pilfered their stash and sent a bunch of issues straight to us, the bear ridin’, cowboy deprived, teachers and students of Denver!

Reed Gunther, an all-ages comic book published by Image Comics and created by brothers Shane and Chris Houghton, follows a goofy bear-riding cowboy through his exploits in the spooky and exciting Old West!
Shane and Chris Houghton have been brothers as long as they can remember. Throughout the years, the two have collaborated on various creative projects, the most prolific being afternoon jam sessions in the garage. While growing up, it was hard to find either of them without a comic book within arms reach, and they are now extremely excited to be working together on one of their own.
Bilingual After School Program Set To Launch
Today, Sarah Kowalchuk, a classroom teacher at University Hill Elementary in Boulder, will begin teaching Comic Book Classroom’s After School Curriculum. Mrs. Kowalchuk, a bilingual 2nd grade teacher, will teach in both Spanish and English, and utilize the Spanish language handouts for a class of 5th graders.
This is an exciting opportunity for all involved. CBC is thrilled to have a chance to directly impact English Language Learners in a Bilingual School. We wish Mrs. Kowalchuk and her students the best.
