What is Comic Book Classroom?
CBC is a Colorado based nonprofit organization that provides free comic book based curriculum which improves literacy and art skills, increases student achievement, and develops personal awareness.
Filling A Need!
As many as 15 million kids have no place to go after school.
$15 pays for all the necessary materials for one student’s CBC experience.
Parents admit to regularly leaving more than 4 million middle school kids under the age of 13 to care for themselves for a few hours each week.
$35 pays to put one student through a CBC course.
The hours between 3-6 PM on school days are the prime time for violent juvenile crime; this is also the time kids are most likely to become victims of violent crime.
$51 pays for one hour of Comic Book Classroom Programming.
Of all Colorado children not currently enrolled in afterschool, 40% (280,842) would be likely to participate IF an afterschool program were available in their community.
$510 pays to host the 6 week CBC program for 20 kids.
